JJosé Ángel Merino made this aluminium sculpture called “Explosión de vacío” in 2010, with which he obtained the Antón Grant for Sculptural Creation in 2009.
“Explosión de vacío” is a tribute to Antón and, by extension, to all those whose life was cut short by the war.
The piece materialises in a cube that has multiple holes, thus reproducing the idea of an explosion that occurs inside, destroying the material with which the piece was made.
