AL HOMBRE BUENO DE LA CASA ALBO

Antonio Rodríguez García

Also known as “El obrero apenado”, this sculpture is a bronze casting made in 1998 that reproduces the one made by “Antón” in 1932. The original piece is in the cemetery of San Juan de la Arena, in the Luciano Casimiro Vega Pantheon.

Casa Albo commissioned the piece from Antón to honour one of the factory’s employees.
The only funerary sculpture made by Antón, it was originally modelled in clay and cast in cement by the artist himself.

The piece shows the figure of a standing man, who, overwhelmed by tragedy, represents the internal suffering of pain that comes from not being able to overcome the struggle of existing.

The conditioning of the environment where this piece is located was made by the sculptor Pablo Maojo.
