TRILOBITE

Mercedes Cano y Antonio Sobrino

“Trilobite” is a sculpture made by the artists Mercedes Cano and Antonio Sobrino in 2001
The piece was created when this group of artists was awarded the Antón Grant for Sculptural Creation in 1999.

Trilobite, an idyllic and marine reference, comprises a series of rings arranged on a spiral made from iron, wood and ceramic.

It is a practicable piece, designed to be displayed outdoors; the user can sit in it to view the two spiral directions and the infinite movement towards the exterior of a spiral, through a line that will never find itself.
